Urban forestry is the planned, integrated, and systematic approach to the management of trees, woodlands and forests influenced by the social, cultural and economic dynamics of major metropolitan areas. Professions working in urban forestry include foresters, arborists, wildlife biologists, landscape architects, engineers and land use planners. Success in sustaining the economic, social, environmental and ecological benefits of the urban forest requires the collaboration of these diverse professions and community interests.
